ACTION ALERT: Health Care

On Wednesday, September 30, members of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee will address key pro-life amendments to the proposed health care overhaul.  Many of these amendments will determine whether or not taxpayer dollars will be used to subsidize the abortion industry under the new health care system.  According to reports, the votes appear to be very close.

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Chairman of the Health Subcommittee on Finance, has been outspoken about various aspects of the

"family friendly" health care overhaul, but has not stated his position regarding subsidizing abortion services and/or providing conscience protections for medical professionals forced to perform abortions under the new health system.

Pro-life West Virginians should

email or call Senator Rockefeller's offices at:
  • Washington, D.C. - 202-224-6472,
  • Beckley - 304-253-9704,
  • Charleston - 304-347-5372,
  • Fairmont - 304-367-0122, and/or
  • Martinsburg - 304-262-9285.
Please tell Senator Rockefeller to remove taxpayer subsidies for abortion services in any health care proposal.
