The National Democrat Party, the one that openly and loudly voted against… including God in their national platform, is lost. There’s no coming back from where they are. That leaves conservatives with pretty much one political option.

But the National Republican Party has been drifting away from its evangelical base since the ’80’s. The misguided Republican National Committee’s philosophy of “We must have a big tent to win elections,” has never been more disgustingly on display than during the last few months in Nevada.

The infamous Nevada pimp and reality TV character Dennis Hoff, won a Republican legislative primary last spring. For years the “Big Tent” approach to winning elections, included pro-gay rights and anti-religious freedom groups like the Log Cabin Republicans. The big tent welcomed pro-pot Republicans too, as long as they call it medicine. But now in this stomach-churning case, apparently the “Big Tent” includes pro-pimp and prostitution Republicans.

The rank-and-file registered Republican voter likely has no idea that most state Republican Party organizations have zero ability to qualify who call’s themselves a Republican in an election.

Take even a state like West Virginia, where the state party chairwoman is a devout evangelical and has worked to put into place, the most faith-friendly party platform in the country. But even with the outstandingly clear party platform in West Virginia, the Republican Party leadership has no authority whatsoever to prevent a pimp like Dennis Hoff from running in a primary as a declared Republican.

The rank-and-file Republican voter likely has no idea that most state Republican Party organizations have zero ability to qualify who call’s themselves a Republican in an election. This is a giant flaw in the political machine. Even worse is the flaw that once in office, Republicans can abandon the platform entirely, or even switch parties with zero accountability from the state or national party.

Today however the Almighty himself stepped in to save the image of Republicans in Nevada and struck the Republican pimp dead.

We have seen this type of party-platform betrayal recently in West Virginia from House Delegate Josh Higginbotham. He intentionally misled the Family Policy Council on his candidate questionnaire regarding his positions on homosexuality. We endorsed him and he won election. But then he quickly abandoned his stated positions during his campaign and became the primary sponsor of pro-homosexual and anti-religious freedom legislation in the House of Delegates. As a result Josh Higginbotham is now on our DO NOT VOTE FOR list, in The Family Policy Council’s 2018 Voter Guide.

Today however the Almighty himself stepped in to save the image of Republicans in Nevada and struck the Republican pimp dead. Dennis Hoff’s death is less than a month before he would have easily won his heavily Republican district. Republicans listen…

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galations 6:7.

Republican leaders, county and state and national chairs,  find a way to fix this glaring accountability gap in qualifying candidates to represent your party in primary elections. Please do so before this shame befalls West Virginia or other states and before our Father God chooses not to step in and strike a man dead.

Next time, God may instead, allow painful consequences of allowing an evil man who prostituted young women, to affiliate with your party and be elected to public office.
