Legislative Hearing

On Tuesday, July 14, 2009, the West Virginian Legislature held a public hearing on whether or not the people of West Virginia should be given the opportunity to vote on the definition of marriage.

The Family Policy Council of West Virginia (FPCWV) was honored to provide testimony in favor of letting the people vote on marriage as one man and one woman.  The FPCWV explained to legislators that the Constitution belongs to its people.

Since the recent experience of several states has ended the debate  over whether there is a nationwide effort to redefine marriage, the question now has become: is there a legitimate reason to not let the people decide the legal definition of marriage.
